Congratulations to our newest O.N.E. Graduates!

Congratulations to our newest O.N.E. Graduates! Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Program Orientation for Nutrition Employees, also known as O.N.E. is a 30-hour introduction course designed to prepare new school nutrition employees during their first year of employment. O.N.E. is just one example of keeping the mission of the Georgia Department of Education’s School Nutrition Division by providing leadership, training and technical assistance, and resources so local program personnel may deliver quality meals and education that contribute to the nutritional well-being of Georgians and their performance at work and school.

The following Pulaski County School Nutrition employees completed the O.N.E. training on Monday, July 30, 2018:

Constance Green – Lunchroom Manager, PCMS/HHS

Jay Miller – Foodservice Assistant, PCES

Cindy Miller – Foodservice Assistant & Cashier, PCMS/HHS

Kendra Whitehead – Foodservice Assistant, PCMS/HHS

Sandra Johnson – Foodservice Assistant, PCES

Cassandra Brown – Foodservice Assistant & Cashier, PreK/PCES

At the completion of the course, new employees are able to identify and follow best practices in sanitation, safety, meal pattern requirements, quantity food production, nutrition, school nutrition history and philosophy, merchandising, teamwork and customer service skills. Additionally, they work to develop skills that will result in improved nutrition programs and service for customers.

This course meets the Georgia State Board of Education Rule (160-5-6-.01: Statewide School Nutrition Program) that requires all new employees to complete within the first year of employment, training in: program goals and philosophy, human relations and service skills, safe and sanitary food handling, and first aid.
