The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). It’s a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for sophomores, freshmen and juniors on the SAT®. It gives juniors a chance to enter NMSC scholarship programs and gain access to college and career planning tools. The test will be given to all sophomores who sign up, free of charge. Freshmen and juniors can take the test but must also sign up in the guidance office and pay $17.00. Fees should be paid when students sign up. The test date is October 16th and will be given here at the high school. Deadline for sign up and fee payment is August 14th.
