Director's Message
Dear Prospective Students and Parents:
Welcome to the Achievement Learning Center (ALC). I am Dr. A. Keith Green, and it is a great privilege to serve as the Director of the Achievement Learning Center.
Achievement Learning Center Purpose:
The Achievement Learning Center is designed to provide individualized online instruction augmented with instructional support in a positive learning environment for students who have not been successful in the traditional classroom setting.
The Achievement Learning Center Vision:
The Achievement Learning Center supports students by providing a safe and nurturing learning environment with opportunities and support services needed for success in school and the community. The program recognizes, respects, and responds to the value and worth of individuals and helps them to make appropriate choices.
The Achievement Learning Center Beliefs:
- School must ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
- The education of all students is a shared responsibility.
- All students can learn.
- Encouragement is vital to success.
- School and Parental communication is vital to student success.
- Clear goals and high expectations for student achievement should guide the development of the curriculum.
- Students will need technical skills to compete in a global society.
- A commitment to continuous school improvement is necessary to facilitate learning for a lifetime.
The Achievement Learning Center is located at 72 Warren Street. Our class sizes are small, which allows students as much individual attention as they need. The Achievement Learning Center dedicates itself to preparing students to earn their high school diploma, as well as being prepared for the next stage of their life, college, or career.
