HAWKINSVILLE HIGH
SCHOOL RECEIVES GOVERNOR'S CUP AWARD!
Consistent
improvement in SAT scores is cited for the
reason. Governor Perdue came
to HHS on Tuesday, October 6th, along with State
School Superintendent Kathy Cox, Senator Ross
Tolleson, and Representative Jimmy Pruett, and
personally awarded the school a trophy and a
$2,000 check.
Congratulations to Kelli Green
Pulaski School System
TEACHER
OF THE YEAR!
Kelli
Pipkin Green graduated from Bleckley County High
School in 1990. She received her Bachelor’s of
Science Degree in Secondary Education from
Georgia Southern University. After a wonderful
experience student teaching, Mrs. Green agreed
to be a long term substitute for a high school
English teacher. It took ten years for her to
come back to teaching.
During
those ten years she was a Family and Consumer
Science and 4-H Agent for the University of
Georgia Extension Service, working in Screven,
Houston, Pulaski and Macon counties. As a
former 4-H’er, Kelli enjoyed her work.
When
the opportunities arose to teach Family and
Consumer Sciences at Hawkinsville High school,
Kelli realized she was ready to try teaching
again. For the last 5 years she has been
teaching at Hawkinsville High School.
Kelli
is the advisor for the school newspaper and the
high school FCCLA. She is a Cadre chair and
serves on the Dream Team committee. She is
married to Hawkinsville native, Wade Green.
They have one son, Tal Green. He is seven years
old and in second grade.
Pulaski County Schools are ACCREDITED
